Trends On Twellow

One of the big pushes in the world of social media is to identify and utilize trending topic data. So we at Twellow are working on a few features to help you identify what is coming up as far as up-to-the-minute trends in the social-media sphere. We’re excited about a new feature that we’ve added to Twellow today: Twellow Trending Categories.

What is Twellow Trending Categories? This is a new list on our main page that shows what categories are being talked about the most, right now. It automatically pulls trending data from hundreds of thousands of messages and points you to the categories that are hottest among social media chatter. And you can see exactly who is discussing what by following the links to the categories and expanding the What are people saying section.

In addition to the trending data, we’ve added a few more items to our mainpage to give you an idea of who is currently new and active on Twellow: the Recently Claimed Profiles and the Recently Extended Bios sections. These areas show you who has recently claimed their Twellow profile, and who has recently entered an extended bio.

These new features are designed to help you find and follow people and conversations that matter to you. Which is really the whole point of Twellow. Connecting with people who matter.

Enjoy,

It’s so interesting that the “Construction” buzz which beats John McCain on your Trending Categories list is not about saws but is about “Joe the Plumber” … which is really about politics. I love the feature!

Yes, Susan, it was quite a surprise to us also to see the Construction category pushed up in the trends. Who would have thought political debates would bring such fame to construction workers?

    Thanks for the comment!
