Just a short little notice here to let our Twellow users know about a little Twellow addition. We’ve gone ahead and taken the Enhanced Logins and made it just a little bit easier to see if you follow someone or someone follows you.

When you log in using Enhanced Mode each profile in the system now has a little icon under the Follow buttons to let you know if you are following them, if they are following you, if you both follow each other, or if nobody follows anybody! And if you don’t know what the symbols mean, just put your mouse over and you’ll get a pop-up letting you know exactly who is or is not following whom. Did you follow all that?

As Twellow has progressed one of it’s most valuable features is it assists in finding folks on Twitter whom our users want to be following. Up until now however it’s been a pretty slow process once a desired contact is found. Our users have had to click through to a user’s Twitter page and then submit the follow request from there. That’s all changed now.

There has been much talk as of late on several high-profile blogs about a phishing scam and other security issues associated with Twitter and applications that access the Twitter API, such as Twellow. Here at Twellow we are not ignorant of the concerns many of our users have regarding this issue, so I’d like to explain how Twellow uses your sensitive Twitter information, specifically your password.

A few weeks back Greg Lambert of 3 Geeks and a Law Blog wrote a post about the “secret” search functions available on Twellow. We’ve been pretty busy around here, and somehow overlooked making these powerful functions public.

As promised we’ve been working feverishly to bring TwellowHood to more of our Twellow users. We’re pleased to now offer the TwellowHood map to our friends up in Canada. This extends the TwellowHood by over 11,000 new people, so be sure to stop by and check it out. And be sure to check out Nunavut and give @polarlawyer a follow. It looks lonely up there!
Enjoy,

Going over my inbox this morning I found a link to a video blog post about Twellow. Matthew Hunt of SmallBusinessCoachOnline.com has created a great little tutorial on the benefits of using Twellow. The blog post is entitled “Using Twellow to Network on Twitter” and gives an excellent overview of the value of using Twellow to find fellow like-minded Twitterers.

Go ahead and give it a watch. If you have questions about how you can benefit from our service it’s certainly worth your time.
Enjoy,

Some Twellow users may have noticed our people counter has stopped increasing and trending categories have been frozen for the last several hours. Not to worry. Twitter is currently experiencing some technical issues with their data feed but should have it resolved shortly.

Since the creation of our “What are people saying?” feature on Twellow we’ve thought it’d be a great idea if our users could consolidate what people are saying about their favorite categories all in one place. With this in mind we’ve gone ahead and created a new service on Twellow called Twellow Pulse.
